I have lived here for the past year and the experience was less than ideal. There is a huge bug problem, even though they say they spray for pests, it is ineffective. You will throw away more food than you eat because of the infestation. Also, Sun Village seems to be lenient on those with dogs, as there is dog poop almost everywhere in these apartments. The location is good for students but for the price it is not worth living here with this many problems. I understand there were a few changes in maintenance and management but it still remains the same as they avoid work orders and avoid benefiting you financially. You will not receive your deposit back and they will give you multiple inconveniences as they will not let you resolve any problems during or after your lease is up. I've called the office multiple times and I have yet to receive my deposit. I even spoke to them BEFORE my lease was over about my deposit and there is STILL issues. The security gate was always broken and people could just come in and knock on your door at ANY HOUR OF THE DAY, multiple cars being broken into throughout my lease, security is an issue as well. I paid to have a designed parking spot but it is never enforced so I had multiple inconveniences with finding a parking spot as other people parked in my paid spot and even getting a boot on my vehicle for not having my pass up even though they have the make/model/license of my vehicle. Water does get get shut off quite often with no warning, just a post follow up, and they now require you to pay a water fee every month (it wasn't always required.) Overall, there are better places to live. If security, money, or convenience isn't an issue, you can comfortable live here but unfortunately, for a college student who pays tuition, car payments as well as go to work full time, this apartment complex was a disaster and Sun Village has failed to show me a positive experience` of being a livable apartment complex.

It's definitely not a forever home, but so far it hasn't been bad. When we arrived, our apartment had writing in black light paint all over the walls (it's still there but we have been able to cover the worst of it with decoration) and the closet smelled like pee. We talked to maintenance about both of these issues, and so far, (we've been here a little over a month) nothing has changed. We tried to bleach the closet and get as much of the smell out as we can, but sometimes you still get whiffs. There are other little things as well like not having a fire alarm set up in our apartment, or the closet doors not opening and closing smoothly that are a little annoying as well. There are also patches where you can see they tried to "fix" stuff, but I feel with my limited knowledge of home improvement, I might have been able to do a better job. We also haven't been set up as residents so we can pay our rent online. Again, not the end of the world, but a little annoying. We have done everything we can to help ourselves in this apartment like fixing chipped paint, spraying for bugs, and fixing clogged drains because we now know that going through maintenance doesn't seem to really offer a solution. Besides that though, the grounds are fairly well kept, and we haven't had any problems with the staff or other residents. It offers what we need and we are pretty comfortable in our home. They were all very nice when we moved in and answered all of our questions. It seems like a decent place for what we are paying and if all of the little things could get fixed, I would give it a better rating. For a first apartment, it's not bad.

  • Sun village is a really nice first apartment. It's in a safe area, never worry too much about the location. It's convenient to school and work. Staff is always really friendly. Especially Kendall, who helped us move in comfortably and helped us out with any problems or needs we had in a quick manner. Great service! Overall a really nice place to live.
