Customer Reviews about Albuquerque Police Department:

  • People are so quick to judge an entire department based on one bad experience or what the media says or shows you. The reason it takes officers longer to respond to your call is because the Albuquerque Police Department is so short staffed that they do not have enough officers to cover all the calls that come out. So short staffed in fact that the chances of all officers being on a call at the same time are fairly high due to the length of time it takes to complete a call and not all calls are the same. Also, depending on the severity of the call; injuries or potential danger etc, your call may be upgraded to a priority 1 which, in simple terms, is considered most important. So, what people need to understand is that if officers are dealing with other calls like domestic violence, child abuse, a stabbing, robbery (theft with the threat of injury), or even suicide (which happens more often than you would think unfortunately) and you call in that your vehicle was broken into but the perp in not on scene, there were no injuries, and no threat of danger then your call is not going to be a priority. I know we all would like to believe that we are more important than everyone else, but that is not the case sometimes. And of course you only hear the negative parts of the department because the negative is what sells newspapers and gets viewers, you never hear about the positive impacts the department has on our community. Here is what all Albuquerque citizens should think about. The current population of Albuquerque is 556,495 people and continuously growing. The Albuquerque Police Department has about 1,000 officers patrolling. That means that for every 557 people in our city there is ONE APD OFFICER. So when you make a call to 911 that is not a priority 1 call, and it takes a couple hours for an officer to respond, consider this and trust that they are doing the best they can with the limited resources they have. We should be supporting them and not bashing them in reviews on Google. Personally, I wouldn't want to work for APD because why would I want to protect people that don't support me and what I do? They are all stronger people than I am, that is for sure.

My 16yr old son & 14yr old daughter were home alone on Saturday night. There was somebody trying to get in the front door. The dogs are barking and growling. My son calls 911. Then calls my wife who gets home in 15 minutes. An hour after that, guess who decides to show up? To top it off they act so matter of fact that they took so long. My dogs will get some special treats tomorrow. If anything happens to my family after calling 911 again & they take as long as the mail to arrive, I will sue them & start my own security company. APD, "To serve & protect, when we get around to it."

All the "Copsuckers" fail to realize that everyone is giving specific detailed occurrences, not what they saw on TV you dopes. FML
